My microphone isn't working

What to do when your microphone isn't recording...

Troubleshooting:

  1. Review normal microphone behaviour
    1. See video below
  2. If using i-scribe microphone, confirm that microphone is not muted:


                                         Green = Not muted                        Red = Muted
  3. Check the microphone's physical connection(s) 
    1. Try using the in-built microphone
  4. Adjust browser settings to allow microphone
    1. See video below
    2. Additional tip: If you notice your microphone is working sometimes but not others, then make sure to set your microphone as the default option.
  5. Try using Google Chrome (if on a computer or laptop - whether mac of PC)
  6. Try using Safari (if on an Apple mobile device)
  7. Update your browser software (and other software)
  8. After updating software, turn the device off and on
  9. Turn computer bluetooth off
