Why does it say "the patient" or "they/them"?
The above issues usually occur when the system is uncertain about some details. Below are steps to improve these issues.
Why this occurs?
- When the system is unsure about some details, it can choose to select ambiguous terms (in an attempt to avoid making a mistake)
How to fix this issue?
- It helps to clearly tell the system information such as the patient name. A convenient way to do this is to start the transcript with:
- The clinician saying: "Patient is name, she/he is a here for reason for visit"
- Some users prefer to say this before the patient is in the room
- Some users prefer to type this into the transcript before clicking "Start":
- As a side note, in general, at the end of a consult, it's also helpful to summarise other key information:
- "The diagnoses are... "
- "The plan is... "
- The clinician saying: "Patient is name, she/he is a here for reason for visit"
